With the debut of pure gold in the CIGA Design family, our goal for this model was to

construct a fusion and bring together all the experience we have gained since the

creation of the brand in one watch. It was born to be striking, both technically and

aesthetically, with finishing also of an exceptional level. The upgraded material and

masterful craftsmanship make the Blue Planet · Gilded Age a very essence of elegance

and sophistication which epitomizes the creative style that is CIGA Design’s hallmark.

A GILDED DIAL STANDS THE TEST OF TIME

Each gilded planet dial undergoes multiple intricate crafting processes. Stringent production standards have resulted in an obsolescence rate of over 40%, causing nearly half of all dials procuced to be scrapped. CIGA Design provides the ultimate experience to alll wearers with painstaking standards.

Intricate Crafting Processes

The initial engraving of the dial’s contours is performed using a CNC engraving machine with a 0.07 mm cutting head at a high speed of 20,000 RPM. This process takes a total of 18 hours to complete.

After the initial engraving is completed, the raw dial will be coated with a corrosion-resistant black layer, a special ink to stabilize the follow-up electroplating process and endure acid pickling.

Crank It Up a Notch with the Essence of Elegance

The layer of pure 24k gold on top is gilded upon after the raw dial undergoes multi-layer electrode ion plating (including zinc and nickel).

Rise from the Ashes and Become Tough and Light

The dried cases are placed in a furnace and heated to around 1500°C typically . This process takes 144 hours and causes the ceramic particles to fuse together and form a solid, dense material.

Take the Best of Chinese and Craftsmanship

The final step involves polishing the ceramic cases. This process takes over 200 hours to deliver a smooth touch and a tint of lasting shine."The dial reproduces the real lands and ocean, making the watch a blue planet at the wrist. It reminds us to love the Earth and protect our only home.

When the hour hand rotates 30°, the minute hand rotates 390°. This innovative change in the gear ratio of the traditional movement makes the watch possible to indicate both the hour and minute with a single pointer. This ingenious solution transforms the conventional way of time-telling. Patented automatic calibre integrated by 30 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours and a movement frequency of 28800 times/hour.

How to Use Automatic Mechanical Watch
 

One of the beautiful things about an automatic mechanical watch is that it requires interaction with its owner to function. But before you reap the benefits from it, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help keep that watch running flawlessly and serve you well for years.

 
1. For the first use, manually wind the crown clockwise 30 forward spins, set the time, and then strap it on.
2. Don’t manually wind on your wrist. Wind the watch off your wrist to minimize stress on the winding stem.
3. Don’t overwind. Stop when you feel resistance. This isn’t like topping off your gas tank, so don’t try to give it a little extra.
4. Unless you don’t wear your watch daily or you’re an extremely inactive person, you won’t have to wind your automatic every day.
5. NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkeling, diving, water-related work, and fishing. Splash/rain resistant only.
6. Wearing a delicate precision mechanism in a harsh working/sport environment is not recommended.
7. Don’t keep it in close proximity to magnets like those found in speakers, televisions, or your iPad that can affect the precision.
8. The mortal enemies of a mechanical watch are moisture, shock, and magnets!!
9. Don’t ignore watch maintenance. Once every 2-3 years isn’t much to ask. 😉
