What is Nixie Tube？

It is the crystallization of an era. Originating from the 1950s, the USSR military factory produced the ion tube that uses

neon electron transition to emit light. There are only around 10,000 IN16 Nixie tubes left in the world, and each watch

of Era uses the IN16 Nixie tubes that have been preserved to this day. Every single IN16 we use on the watch reduces

the already limited total.

In 1973, LED technology became prosperous, and nixie tubes were no longer produced, but the warm orange

light kept on people's minds.

The era team aimed to complete the color 70 years ago. Among them, Nikki tubes are the most important parts

and must be manufactured in that period. Therefore, I purchased the in-16 which was preserved in the lighting

warehouse of the gazotron military factory in full condition and decided to use it for era.

We strive to recreate the colors of 70 years ago with utmost precision, especially in the core component of this

watch – the Nixie tube. To ensure authenticity, we have directly collaborated with the former Soviet Union

Gazoteon military factory and acquired well-preserved military-grade IN-16 ion tubes, which were crafted during

that era. These remarkable Nixie tubes emit a mesmerizing glow through the electron transitions of neon gas.

Compact Size Powerful Features

Era's small and sleek design conceals impressive capabilities. With two large-sized Nixie tubes ingeniously

integrated, Era combines style and functionality seamlessly. Through intelligent chip control, we've minimized

components and circuit size, resulting in a streamlined body measuring just 48.5mm x 39mm x 16.3mm.

To drive a small Nixie tube, it requires a voltage of 170V. In Era, we use a specialized high-performance, low-power

processor to control the tube. By eliminating current-limiting resistors, the processor can accurately detect if the Nixie

tube is illuminated and adjust the voltage accordingly. This enables high-voltage power generation, light tracking, and

timing functions efficiently.


How to get it work?
Time Display: By raising your wrist or pressing any button to display the time. The Hour and Minute will
be alternately displayed for twice, 1.25 seconds each. When the blue LED is off, it shows Hour; when it's
on,it shows Minute.
Enter Stopwatch Mode: Double press the down button to enter the Stopwatch Mode. The numbers of
the 2 Nixie tubes will cycle through. Press the down button to start timing. Press to stop. Press again to
clear. Press it twice to return the the previous interface.
Turn off Wrist Raise Display: Double press the up button to enter the menu; at this time, the menu
flashes to display "00". Press any button to make the menu display "01". Double press the upper button,
and then it displays "10" or "11" ". Press any button to switch, "10" is to turn off the Wrist Raise Display,
"11" is to enableWrist Raise Display.
Brightness Adjustment: Double press the down button to enter the timing interface. Press the up button
to change the brightness. Note the default setting is auto brightness powered by ambient light sensor.
Low Battery Reminder: When the battery is lower than 10%, the red light flashes for 1.5 seconds and the
tubes are off. It can only be woken up by pressing any key.

Nyx has a great stopwatch feature built right in. Just double press the down button to enter. You don't

need to take out your smartphone to count time any more.

Answer: Due to the scarcity of glow tubes and the slightly poor process accuracy and particle size at that time,

there are some differences between them during factory assembly and production, so the products may have

unique visual differences. The slightly inclined glow tubes are within the normal error range.
